Top 3 autumn vegetables




Autumn has so much to offer in the kitchen. A few types of vegetables are ready for harvest now! Here, our top 3.

Pumpkin: We just can't stop talking about it. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside. Sweet with an earthy character. Combines perfectly with strong flavors such as pancetta and gorgonzola cheese. You can also kick the pumpkin's ass with some chili pepper olive oil. The pumpkin will suddenly become a real bloke. Besides its fantastic sweet taste, it is also very healthy thanks to all the vitamines it contains. 

Mushrooms: Can be found everywhere in the woods, but you rather get them from a garden where you can pick them yourself or from a green grocer. Our favorite is the cep mushroom (or porcini). The king of the mushrooms. The mild and nutty mushroom can be eaten raw or baked. Unfortunately, they cannot be preserved for a long time. If you would like to do so, dry them first. Chop them in fine strips, put them on a baking tray and turn the oven on 50°C. 

Parsnip: Family of the carrot, but lighter of color. Thanks to its extraordinary sweet and aniseed-like flavor, it is perfect to prepare a soup with. It is filled with vitamins and rich of vitamin C, fibres and iron. Healthy! Parsnip is a vegetable definitely worth to remember! Below you'll find a tasty recipe with parsnip.
